What We Think

by Geoff Young on March 5th, 2007

No new poll this morning. Just figured I’d run through some of the old ones and see what we think about the upcoming season and baseball in general. Here goes nothing:

  • Juan Pierre was the worst free-agent signing of the winter. (view poll)
  • We are happy with our teams’ off-season moves. (view poll)
  • Jeff Bagwell is more likely to reach the Hall of Fame than is Fred McGriff or Gary Sheffield. (view poll)
  • Bull Durham is our favorite baseball movie. (view poll)
  • The Barry Zito signing is “mostly insane.” (view poll)
  • Goose Gossage is the one player not voted into the Hall of Fame this time around that should have been. (view poll)
  • The Pittsburgh Pirates came out ahead of the Atlanta Braves in the Mike Gonzalez/Andy LaRoche deal. (view poll)
  • The Chicago Cubs have improved themselves the most for the 2007 season. (view poll)
  • Barry Bonds will break Hank Aaron’s career home run record in 2007 (bite your tongue!). (view poll)
  • Statis Pro was our favorite tabletop baseball game when we were kids. (view poll)
  • Our favorite baseball cliche is, “In any other ballpark, that’s a homerun.” (view poll)

And that, my friends, is what we think.
