Utley Extends Hit Streak To 31

by Tyler Knott Gregson on July 31st, 2006

Chase Utley is Chasing History.  Last night he extended his hit-streak to 31 games and today he’s going for 32.

31 games in a row with a hit puts Utley at the longest streak this year in the majors and he is only (only, haha) 25 games away from tying Joe DiMaggio’s record of 56. Will it happen?  I’d like to say he’s got a shot, but Good Lord, 56 games?

Regardless, keep up the good work Utley, I’m impressed already.

1 opinion for Utley Extends Hit Streak To 31

As much as I’d like to see him do it, I don’t think there’s any way Utley will get to 56 or 57 games. He probably won’t get past 35 — the Phils are going against St. Louis next. Tough pitching….
