Pena, Young Named Comeback Players of the Year
Here’s one poll we won’t need to conduct. Two first basemen — Tampa Bay’s Carlos Pena and Washington’s Dmitri Young — have been named Comeback Player of the Year. We’ve previously identified Pena’s re-emergence as one of baseball’s biggest surprises of 2007, and his selection was a no-brainer. Young also has had plenty to overcome in his return to prominence.
Congrats to both men on their achievement.

I think they made the right decision however I think Fausto Carmona could have won it too.

Carmona? He’d only pitched 75 big-league innings before this year. Doesn’t seem like much of a candidate for that particular award.

true, but he went from starter to closer disaster to a top 5 pitcher in the Al
