Pedro Day-To-Day

by Tyler Knott Gregson on August 15th, 2006

Could a strained right-calf muscle really be the potential bane of the New York Mets? With 49 games left in the regular season and the post-season hopes largely supported by the two legs and arms of Pedro Martinez, the news that he’s day-to-day with a calf injury can’t be sitting well.

After giving up 6 runs last night, he’s scheduled for an MRI today to put “clearer focus” on the injury and his long-term prognosis.

Whatever the case may be, if I was the Mets, I’d be more than a little uncomfortable until that MRI came back with as little bad news as possible. Now, for your viewing pleasure, Pedro doing what he does best, whining a call.
