Nationals’ John Patterson Exits Game Mid At-Bat

by Tyler Knott Gregson on June 30th, 2006

Here’s a strange one…players always leave baseball games, they have since the beginning of the game; some due to injury, some due to fatigue, some due to, well, whatever, but most of them wait til the end of an inning, most at least wait til the end of the at-bat.

Mid at-bat in the 6th inning, with a 1-1 count against the Blue Jays, John Patterson had to leave the game.  Reports say that he left due to “fatigue” in his throwing arm.  Hmm, odd.  Just too tired to throw a few more pitches?  Odd.

Anyhow, the Jays went on to take the game, maybe the whole Nationals team had fatigue?  Odd.
