Mets Take 2-0 Lead Over Dodgers

by Geoff Young on October 6th, 2006

The New York Mets, who will be without starting pitchers Pedro Martinez and Orlando Hernandez throughout the playoffs, are too busy beating the Los Angeles Dodgers to feel sorry for themselves. Veteran southpaw Tom Glavine notched the victory in this one, with Billy Wagner picking up his second save of the series. Game 3 is on Saturday in LA, with Greg Maddux going for the Dodgers against the Mets’ Steve Trachsel.

Glavine. Maddux. Does it seem weird to see those two on opposite sides in a playoff battle between the Dodgers and Mets, or is that just me?
