Elementary, My Dear Watson!
Brandon Watson, an outfielder for the Columbus Clippers, broke a 95-year-old International League record on Sunday by collecting a base hit in his 43rd consecutive game. The previous record had been set by Rochester’s Jack Lelivelt during the Taft administration.
As Taft himself once noted, “Failure to accord credit to anyone for what he may have done is a great weakness in any man.” With that in mind, I offer my congratulations to Mr. Watson on his fine accomplishment.
