“As tough and big as he seems, he is real wimpy around doctors or any type of […]

Alex Rodriguez re-injured his strained right quadriceps and he’s out for at least Tuesday. Since this has become a nagging injury, there’s a good chance that Rodriguez will be forced to sit for a week or two. Both Rodriguez and the New York Yankees don’t want him to push it and suffer a major injury.

In news that will come as a complete shock to absolutely no-one, New York Yankees first-round pick Andrew Brackman will undergo “Tommy John” surgery to repair his right elbow. Brackman was considered a huge risk headed into the draft due to elbow problems that kept him out of the ACC and NCAA tournaments this season. […]

From Dodger Thoughts comes word that right-hander Jason Schmidt will miss the remainder of the 2007 season following surgery to repair, heck, just about everything. Jon also points us to an excellent article by Will Carroll (written in ‘04 but still very relevant) on the nature of labrum tears and recovery rate from them. It’s […]

I have a hard time imagining that this is what Peter Angelos expected when he laid out serious cash to “fix” his team’s beleaguered bullpen. I wondered at the time what Angelos was thinking, and with news that the Orioles have placed right-hander Danys Baez on the disabled list due to a “forearm strain,” Baltimore’s […]
