White Sox Put Up 20 Runs Then Get Thrown At

Define “relentless.”  I bet if you looked it up right now in ol’ Webster’s, you’d see a Chicago White Sox logo.  Seriously, go try.
In today’s case, Relentless means beating a team 20-6.  Relentless means scoring an 11 run 3rd inning, and then scoring more after that, including a 6 run, 6th inning.  I’ll tell you […]

Ordonez Smacks 2 In Tigers Win

I can honestly say I’ve never hit two homerun’s in any game, ever, with the tiny exception of Base’s Loaded on old Nintendo.  Magglio Ordonez, on the other hand, has.  And he just did it to contribute to a total of 4 homers for the Tigers in their 10-1 victory over the Brewers.
Craig Monroe and […]

Barrett Begins 10 Game Suspension Today

Remember when Cubs catcher Michael Barrett was suspended for punching Chicago White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski on May 20th?  I do, it was a great punch after a great collision.  That great punch just lead to a not-so-great suspension, 10 games, and they started today.
Barrett punched Pierzynski for “taking a step towards” him instead of […]

Twins Release Veteran Tony Batista

Happy Trails Batista.  It’s always kind of sad saying goodbye to a player that’s been signed but just doesn’t put up the kind of numbers your team wants or needs.  Case in Point:  Batista.
He was signed in December with the hope of adding some very much needed power to the Twins lineup.  Batista came but […]

Only A Red Sox Bat Boy

Only a true Red Sox would pull something like this; only a Bostonian would be this cool. I don’t know how many of you caught it, but 2 nights ago in the Red Sox loss to the Twins, the coolest thing ever happened in the 8th inning.
A crazy fan ran onto the field, ran […]

Red Sox FINALLY Get Lefty Reliever

I guess two grand slams in two days was just too many for Theo & company to put up with.  They FINALLY went out and got a lefty reliever, Finally.
The Red Sox acquired Javier Lopez, a left-handed sidearmer who has been tearing it up for the AAA White Sox; in order to get him they […]

Finley Reaches 300 Homers/300 Stolen Bases

Just a quick congratulations to Steve Finley.  I was going to post this earlier, but honestly, I just forgot.
Anyhow, Steve Finley reached an amazing career milestone, becoming the 6th player in Major League Baseball history to hit 300 homeruns and steal 300 bases.
Wow.  Anyhow, congrats Finley, keep it going.

The Roberto Clemente Debate

This is a debate that is just about as controversial as the ol’ Should Pete Rose Be Inducted debate…this time, I know for absolute positive where my beliefs lie.  Should Clemente’s jersey number be forever retired in Major League Baseball?  My answer is, and always will be, Yes.
No one will debate the impact Jackie Robinson […]

Two Grand Slams In Two Days?!

Good Lord, I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, when it rains it pours.  This time the parade being rained on is that of my beloved Red Sox.
As you know, they lost yesterday to a walk-off Grand Slam, well guess what folks, they lost again today, this time 8-1, and what’s even weirder […]

Santana & Kubel Also Aren’t “Most Players”

So we’ve established that Chris Carpenter is not “most pitchers;” you know who else isn’t, Johan Santana.
Not to be outdone by Carpenters 13 strike outs, Santana struck out 13 Red Sox players on his own through 8 innings.  Good Lord, what did these guys eat today?  Not to be outdone by Santana’s extraordinary feat, Jason […]
