Nationals’ John Patterson Exits Game Mid At-Bat

Here’s a strange one…players always leave baseball games, they have since the beginning of the game; some due to injury, some due to fatigue, some due to, well, whatever, but most of them wait til the end of an inning, most at least wait til the end of the at-bat.
Mid at-bat in the 6th inning, […]

Red Sox Win 12 Straight; Pirates Drop 13 Straight

A dozen wins here, a bakers dozen losses there.  That’s a big swing.  So on one hand we have the Sox on one of their best winning streaks in the last, well, long time, and the other hand we have the Pirates losing 13 in a row.  Good Lord.
They haven’t set a franchise record yet, […]

Dodgers Want & Get Hendrickson

I guess going this far with a right-handed starting rotation just wasn’t cutting it for the Dodgers, they wanted a southpaw, and a southpaw they got.  They had to trade to get him, but they got him.
So what’d they give up?  For Mark Hendrickson, catcher Toby Hall and cash considerations from the Devil Rays, they […]

Red Sox Win 10 Straight

Speaking of the Red Sox, anyone notice that they just kinda silently, ok not so silently at all, won 10 games in a row?
The Red Sox are now sitting pretty atop the AL East over 3 games ahead of the Yankees and I love it.  What makes me even happier though, is seeing a rookie […]

Pedro Returns To Fenway Tonight

Aww, kinda makes me a bit sad.  I just read an article in which Pedro recounted some of his finest memories of being with the Red Sox.  I’d be lying if I said I didn’t remember them and liked them just as much as he did.
Ok, enough.  He IS coming back tonight, and I hope […]

Big Papi Does It Again

I’m just gonna ask all of you this question, and I expect answers, so get on the ball:
Is there a better “game on the line” hitter than Big Papi?  Be honest, answer impartially…is there a better big at-bat hitter?  For my money, I say no.
What’s your take?  All I know is, he did it again, […]

Brett Myers Arrested For Assaulting Wife…Then Pitches Today

So lets get this straight…Phillies pitcher Brett Myers allegedly assaults his wife, goes to court today, then an hour later is on the mound starting against my Red Sox?  Hmm.  Seems a bit, well, odd, doesn’t it?
Myers now faces 2.5 years in jail if convicted, yikes…not much baseballin’ to do if you’re in jail now […]

Rocket Roger’s Back For 5 Innings

Can you really come “back” if you’ve never really gone away in the first place?  Roger Clemens is out to prove that you can indeed make a comeback from a non-existent departure.  Everyone needs a cause Roger, who needs the One Campaign, this cause is yours.
So he’s back, er, here…how’d it actually go?  Well, it […]

What DO You Think Of The All-Star Game

Recent comments by my good buddy Wes stirred some questions in my brain. What IS the point of the All-Star game, besides for the fans, and is the entertainment factor worth the obvious discrepancy it creates for the ‘Home field advantage’ during the World Series?
Wes mentioned, and I have to agree with him on […]

Ichiro Moves Ahead Of Johnny Damon In All-Star Votes

This is an unfamiliar position for me…I’m so used to rooting FOR Johnny Damon, that I find it a bit odd to root against him still.  That’s what I’m doing right now, as I’d much rather Ichiro slide into his position for the All-Star Game, than watch Mr. MetroSexual Johnny Damon play.
Well, as of now, […]
